Due to the fact that two vessels of two separate patients can be located in two completely different places, practically no changes can be detected without any medical equipment. In our office we conduct three basic exams which let us recognize and appropriately classify a patient's problem.
The first is photopletysmographic exam which lets us see if blood flows in the right direction, both in the deep and superficial blood vessel systems. Due to this exam we can classify what type of a medical condition we have in front of us.
The second is measuring the segmental arterial pressure and checking all of the circumference pulses. This is needed to be sure that the arterial blood flow is correct in its quantity and quality. This factor is very important in the process of healing the treated vessels.
The third and most important exam is Doppler-Duplex, the so-called picture ultrasound. The result is shown on a monitor on which we can see and measure all of the superficial vessels; we can check how they are connected with the deep vessels, if there are any perforating vessels, but most importantly we can recognize and mark all of the pathological changes. This is very important in the treatment of the varicose veins.
